occur close embrace;

and there are strong links

they are tying freedom. "

Sister Louise of the Ascension.

THE VOICE OF THE NUN OF CARRION

The poetry of this controversial nun, tried by the Inquisition and, thereafter, with an open process of beatification has been called, by some, of a very high mystical inspiration and a great formal beauty in his verse, and others, in the worst verses and vulgar taste. Menéndez Pelayo believes that the nun of Carrión "was rather misleading and deceptive illusory" other literary critics, however, refer to it, highlighting his life filled with holiness and as a singular figure of Spanish mystic poetry, to the point to compare his poetry with that of Santa Teresa de Jesus, we understand that is exaggerated, although it is very successful author of carols, like this: "Lamb of such greatness / is no wool in the Yelo. / I think in a velvet / Wrap so much poverty ... "

Sister Louise of the Ascension, in the world of Maria Luisa Colmenares de Solís Ruiz, also known as Carrion's sister, was born in Madrid on May 16, 1565 and was baptized in the parish of San Andrés. His parents were Juan Ruiz de Colmenares and Jerónimo de Solis, who had been temporarily carrioneses the Court, due to family illness. At seventeen years old was taken to Carrión de los Condes and eighteen he entered the convent of Santa Clara. From novice was distinguished by his great penance and when in 1609 he was appointed abbess, for the first time the community underwent constant penances and mortifications and a rigid observance of monastic discipline. Sister Louise of the Ascension founded a brotherhood of defenders of the Immaculate Conception to which they were enrolled no less than eighty thousand persons, prelates, nobles and commoners. He attributed many wonders and miraculous events. Aspe's father wrote two volumes on the life of Sister Luisa, and it was this biography that triggered the Holy Office processed in 1634, however have it's own monarch among the most devout of his followers, away from their community and seclusion to the convent of the Augustinian Recollect of Valladolid, where he died on October 28, 1636.

The process of the Holy Office later concluded with an acquittal.

Sister Louise of the Ascension was the minister of Philip III, playing a similar role as Sister Maria Jesus de Agreda next to Philip IV, and is very similar to Sor Patrocinio, The Nun of the wounds, with Isabel II. As the latter has numerous instances of bilocation and comfort able in Japan, to martyr Franciscan Fray Juan de Santa María, in Assisi, visit the tomb of San Francisco, or attend a match in Germany between Catholics and Lutherans at the same while its presence was visible in the land of Castile. There were many characters who asked advice. Philip III consulted it important to state problems in 1613 moved to Carrión de los Condes, Pope Gregory XV maintained continuous contact with her, and directed in their prayers and Philip IV, came to inquire about the possible marriage of his sister Infanta Maria with the Prince of Wales, who opposed the nun of Carrion Prince being a heretic.

Father Manuel Fraile Miguélez published in 1890 the work of lighting a process inquisitorial in Valladolid or vindication or portrait of the nun of Carrion, in which he defends as a person and mysticism.

Admittedly, the nun of Carrión exaggerated his troubles when we had mystics during his novitiate "suffered many insults the devil, who whipped him with iron hooks, and when pushed down the stairs of the chapel," or when he asserted that he had Christ appeared "when he was in the womb of his mother," to promise virginity, explain the mystery of the Trinity and Clarisse announce that it is no less true, that his poetical compositions are of great inspiration, especially the famous Romance of the loneliness of the soul, worthy of inclusion in any anthology of Spanish mystic poetry: "There unitive love / the board to its all / and the body a certain way / walk without the soul alive."
