Which is more effective form of marketing, SEO or PPC?

The Internet became the new form of marketing and its growing use, employers should consider this median in order to have a competitive advantage in the field. For business owners who are not very aware, implementing an internet marketing strategy will provide a competitive advantage in this area. If this is these are things you should be aware of. Internet promotions can be divided into two main categories, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Pay-Per-Click (PPC).

Search Engine Optimization

First, define search engine optimization to get a better understanding. SEO is the process of tweaking (optimizing) the content of your website to ensure it can properly be navigated by search engines. Optimization should be performed for a range of components on your Web site, not just your home page. Once this is done correctly, your main goal is to bring traffic to your site much as possible. This can be done so that the site found on the first page of results provided by search engine. Also, ensure that your business website is present in all the most important directories such as Google.com, Bing and Yahoo. Although the organic search results are free, it takes time to reach optimal levels. Keep in mind that SEO is a very important part of the success of your website and require constant maintenance.

Pay-Per-Click

Pay-Per-Click or PPC is defined as a webcast where the advertiser pays for each click that results in a visit to their website, hence the term "Pay-Per-Click". Google AdWords is a popular PPC advertising program. PPC is beneficial to websites offering sales of products, primarily because they are looking for a return on investment. Keep in mind that as an entrepreneur you are paying per click, so it would be advantageous for sites that are informational only. In other words, while their aim is to sell a particular product, they are also paying for each click they receive. Basically, PPC allows you to pay your way to the top.

SEO or PPC?

Choose the right one depends on your business needs. If your goal is to improve the amount of traffic to your website as soon as possible, then PPC is right for you. The biggest advantage of PPC is that it produces immediate results with leads and sales, often within a couple of days. On a different note, if your goal is to improve brand recognition with no monetary investment then SEO is right for you. Very often, researchers click on organic results rather than PPC results, then you will receive much more traffic.

To summarize, SEO takes time and maintenance while PPC allows you to pay your way to the top. PPC provides a clear advantage over SEO but with the disadvantage, the cost. So basically, if your goal is to achieve maximum results, then PPC is right for you. But keep in mind that profit margins will be reduced accordingly.
