Chardonnay and Merlot

Chardonnay is a white wine made from a green-skinned grape varieties. The flavors are associated with a Chardonnay terroir and oak. It is considered a neutral wine, light in flavor. Many of the city known worldwide for producing Chardonnay include France, Burgundy, Champagne, North America, California, Australia, Italy, and the new wine regions of the world.

There are many types of Chardonnay from dry wines and sweet wines, late harvest quiet. If a Chardonnay has not gone through malolactic fermentation, the wine will taste of apple. The most difficult is when malic acid is converted through fermentation, which will have a more buttery flavor.

The oak is also charred to a certain extent, which introduces a flavor roasting. Many tasters mistake this flavor of the grapes, but from the charring of the oak. Some of the flavors that Chardonnay can be enjoyed as a result of charring of the oak are coconut, cinnamon, cloves, spices, smoke, cream, caramel and vanilla.

When Chardonnay is fermented also affects the taste of wine. For example, the fermentation process is colder than the fruity taste of the wine. These flavors are mango and pineapple. Some wineries also use yeast that has been specially cultivated which gives the wine an aromatic quality.

Chardonnay wine is the most difficult to recognize in a blind tasting because there is a distinct universal trait or style that is applied directly to the wine. There are many different flavors, blends and more. Not everyone has a note smoky Chardonnay with them.
