How to use a fire extinguisher or extinguishers

In the Federal Capital consortia we generally find two types of fire extinguishers:

. The ABC 5 kg (containing powder as an extinguishing agent) are those in the flats, garages and general areas. The BC (containing carbon dioxide as the extinguishing agent) at room mediodres lifts and room light. The letters indicate its use in different types of fires. Class A (solid fuels), Class B (liquid fuels), Class C (electrical) Always keep in mind that ABC fire extinguishers are lighter because the cylinder is less heavy, and that a BC extinguisher weighs 5 kg more than 16 Kg, which makes them less suitable for BC pick up and move on the part of women, and seniors. Also ALWAYS to use a fire extinguisher must be: 1) break or remove the seal (plastic) pictured in red. 2) Remove the locking clip (metal rings) to pull out to remove completely. Although it seems obvious the above, in most cases for those who never had a fire extinguisher on hand and were instructed not want to operate the extinguisher pressing only and may not use it. See photos below. 3) Hold the extinguisher upright (not lying). 4) Point the nozzle of the hose to the base of the fire.

4) Tighten the lever (above) the bottom is only to grab. Remember that if you release the handle will stop the discharge of fire extinguishers. 5) Download the extinguisher fully focus on the fire. YOU SHOULD NEVER TRY TO TEST BEFORE USING. It is advisable to download more than one fire extinguisher to correct vez.Forma take a fire extinguisher / fire extinguishers WARNING: for those who are in cabinets, glass breaking hammer is on the side, not to have to wear a shoe or other item ever with hands
